Rowing 2,800 miles across the Atlantic
Two people. One unsupported crossing. Tenerife to Martinique, December 2026.
Help us make it possible!
Who We Are

Kimberley Hansford and Lieven Cornelis — a British-Belgian team rowing unsupported across the Atlantic.
Kimberley is a scientist living with Type 1 Diabetes; Lieven is an experienced ocean rower. Together we’re testing human endurance, safety systems, and the science of long-distance rowing.
Why We Row
To push personal limits, gather real-world data on endurance at sea, and inspire others to take on bold challenges. Our crossing will also test safety and nutrition strategies for athletes with chronic conditions.
The Route
Tenerife to Martinique
2,800 nautical miles of open ocean, wind, and waves.
Estimated crossing time: 45–55 days, unsupported.

Before that, we’ll complete a training row:
Oostende (Belgium) to Fareham (UK) in July 2026 —
a mini crossing to test our systems, our strategy, and our sanity.
